Website design & development

Our Creative Director will work with the client to fully understand the requirements of the website. We don’t build generic WordPress template websites, but create bespoke designs using our skilled designers and illustrators that work for our clients and their audiences.

Our sites are fully responsive, utilising the WordPress content management system. Our team of user experience (UX) strategists, digital designers and developers work together to ensure the user journey is functional and intuitive.

Training in how to use and update the website is always provided as well as further maintenance options. We can provide digital solutions that can suit a range of budgets and briefs.

Website process

1. Discovery and Research

Gathering information, requirements, and other data that we need in order to make informed decisions later. This could include client briefs, user workshops, structured mapping and user-journey processes – depending on the requirements and budget. We will look to gather constraints and impose creative limits (budget / audience / features).

We will look into stylesheets, moodboards and existing websites that have a similar user profile, and use this research to inform future creative decisions.

2. Strategy

Using the information from the discovery phase, we will develop a structured sitemap and content plan. We make sure that the sitemap has been created and agreed with the client.

3. Sketching and wireframe

We begin to sketch and wireframe so we can start to understand how all the data and information that has been collected may impact the design. We will consider the existing branding for digital use, including working through accessible colour-schemes and typefaces, to create UX wireframes and initial visual designs for the site, focussing on mobile, tablet and desktop.

We will consider the existing branding for digital use, including working through accessible colour-schemes and typefaces. We will then create wireframes and initial visual designs for the site – focussing on mobile, tablet and desktop formats.

4. Design Development

Through the sign-off structure, which we will outline in a project timeline, as well as the additional user workshops and co-design stages (if required) we will complete a finalised design for the website.

5. Build

The website development phase comes next with the build of the site, which will be tested on a standalone server, meaning that your current website (if you have one), will continue to operate as normal. The client will have regular updates of the build stage and areas to approve. Again, the sign-off stages for the build will be outlined in the project timeline.

6. Delivery

Once we get the final sign-off, the website will then be made live on our sustainable hosting server. Before going live, we will add in all relevant SEO information.

We will provide training support for the team so they are comfortable using and making amendments. The website will then be owned and managed by the client.

6. Post Launch

Revise the solution as technical issues arise or new aspects are discovered that have not been addressed. Measure how successful the design is after it’s put into use, through analystics and data gathering.

We have two support and maintenance packages available to clients:

Maintenance Package (Basic):
Includes daily backups of website, weekly security updates to website and any plug-ins used.

Maintenance Package (Advanced):
Includes daily backups of website, weekly security updates to website and any plug-ins used. All required blog posts uploaded to the website included.
