The project began with a full brand redevelopment, refining the Society’s visual identity to feel more contemporary and consistent while remaining respectful of its long-established reputation within the conservation and birdwatching community.
Building on this foundation, we designed and developed a bespoke WordPress website focused on clarity, accessibility, and long-term scalability. The new site provides a clear structure for a wide range of content, including news, sightings, events, and educational resources, making it easier for both members and the public to engage with the Society’s work. Particular attention was paid to usability across devices, ensuring the website performs well for users in the field as well as at home.
A key element of the build was the implementation of a membership area based on annual subscriptions, delivered using WooCommerce and its subscriptions functionality. This allows CBWPS to manage recurring memberships efficiently, control access to member-only content, and streamline renewals and payments. In addition, we integrated a fully functioning online shop, enabling the Society to sell books and publications directly through the website, creating an additional revenue stream to support its conservation activities. The result is a robust, future-proof digital platform that supports CBWPS’s mission, community engagement, and financial sustainability.
