Matt has 15 years of professional experience working in the fields of design, communications and project management.
He has worked alongside a number of design agencies in the UK, Canada and New Zealand. These include Design Works, MPAD, ABG Design, Pique, Lemonade and Saatchi & Saatchi.
Matt performs at his best when he is working on a project that he believes in. He has a passion for working with organisations that are trying to make a difference to individuals, the community or the world at large.
Matt is also an Associate Lecturer at Falmouth University, and Non-Executive Director at Promas CIC – a voluntary role he took on after working with the community interest company on their brand update and website.
When not designing, Matt is also an on-call Beach Lifeguard with the RNLI – a role he has held for 14 years. He is part of the international training team with the charity, traveling to developing countries to teach lifesaving skills, helping to reduce the global drowning rate.
He co-founded Gyllyngvase Surf Life Saving Club and was elected as Chairman for 10 years, stepping down from the role in December 2018. He is a voluntary lifeguard trainer with Surf Life Saving GB and was recognised for this dedication by being presented with a distinguished ‘Services to Lifesaving’ award.
He also volunteers as a First Responder with the NHS and gives his time as a call-out member with West Cornwall Search and Rescue Team – currently training a search and rescue puppy called Merryn.
